Mr Rahman is Beximco Group CEO. He also holds multiple other positions. Chairman & MD Beximco LPG, Chairman & MD Beximco Communications, Vice Chairman IFIC Bank Ltd, Vice President of LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB), Chairman of the British Asian Trust’s Bangladesh Advisory Council.

Mr Rahman founded Beximco Petroleum Ltd, and within a few years firmly established the company as one of the leading downstream operators in the country. Mr Rahman’s belief in technology’s role as an essential component toward long term economic growth and development meant a critical aspect of the strategy has been the development of a very complex and high-tech manufacturing process to produce modern composite cylinders. This vision has led to a significant boost in the countries consumption of LPG due to the lightweight, safety characteristics and high performance benefits, all important attributes in developing countries.

More recently, Mr Rahman founded Beximco Communications Ltd with the vision of building a world class digital entertainment system for a digital Bangladesh. In 2019, the company launched the first direct satellite television broadcasting service in the country. This pioneering position has changed the face of Television landscape by making every person in a primarily analogue landscape to have access to premium quality digital entertainment.

In addition to his work, Mr Rahman is also known for his charitable work and passion for sport. In 2019, Mr Rahman launched the British Asian Trust, an organisation founded by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in Bangladesh. Its mission is to work alongside NGOs, philanthropists and investors to invest in the country’s social development. A key objective is related to tackling poverty, primarily in the fields of education, livelihoods, anti-trafficking and mental health.

Mr Rahman is also an advocate of promoting sport at the grass roots level in Bangladesh. In particular the national sport of Cricket, where at the high-performance level he is the owner of the Dhaka Dynamites Franchise for the Bangladesh Cricket Premier League (BPL).

Mr Rahman, completed his BBA with distinction from American University, Washington DC.
